Surrey, UK Spa, where I can lunch in my robe? Pennyhill Park it is!
An hour from London, its own Michelin star restaurant, award winning spa and hidden in 120 acres of wooded park land, Pennyhill Park was a simple choice for a one-night luxury getaway.
The moment you enter Pennyhill Park you automatically start to feel relaxed as you drive down the long drive way and escape the hustle and bustle of motorways and London town. We were swiftly checked in and shown to our rooms. From that moment we were in our luxury fluffy white robes for the foreseeable of the trip. (Very liberating/ relaxing not feeling the pressure to dress up and if you wanted you could stay in your robe the whole trip!).
All the rooms had individual names and we were staying in ‘Pansy’. Pansy was a large room with two floors, providing you with an upstairs lounge should you wish to chill out there, iPad room service and a bathroom the size of a bedroom!
Now the treatment…. We had booked in for the oxygen facial on the day of arrival. You check into the spa (in your robe) and are led to a dark treatment room. The massage table was heated and electric and as you laid down there was a small coloured light above you in sight that you could focus your eyes on should they be open. With lovely smells and music the treatment began. I was told that this is what the celebrities have done before the Oscars (of course this one line makes a girl feel good). The products used were by NaturaBisse, from enzyme peel to oxygen serum and all ending with a tinted moisturiser so you skin looks the BEST when you leave. In between using products on your face your head is oil massaged and your shoulders, neck and arms, utter bliss and your skin looks completely refreshed! Would definitely recommend this treatment, not only for relaxing but also for amazing skin results (I did not have to wear foundation to dinner that night, that good!). If you don’t have the money for a treatment there is enough to entertain you in the spa, from jacuzzis to hot pools outside all with different temperatures, saunas and steams. Spend a few hours reading a book, whilst drinking champagne and dipping in and out of the heated pools outside and inside.
You have a few options when it comes to food. You can enjoy a healthy selection of food (super salads galore) at the spa restaurant where even more excitingly you can go and eat in your robes so nothing interrupts your day at the spa. There is also The Latymer a Michelin-starred restaurant run by chef Matt Worswick. Worswick's five, eight or ten-course tasting menus feature intricate dishes inspired from around the globe. For a special occasion when visiting Pennyhill Park this is a must. Finally, you can opt for the Brassier on site, which also serves lovely seasonal food and depending on the package you opt for you can get £40pp allocation towards your dinner.
Our top tips:
All over Pennyhil are free lotions and potions to try, use them at every opportunity. Really lovely products.
When you get a treatment, in this case the facial they give you a tester to take home ( super expensive products, for example in excess of £200 for a peel, you can get a small freebie tester if your budget is a bit tighter)
Also on the day of checkout (11:00 am) they let you use the spa up until 14:00 pm so take full advantage and stay in that robe for as long as possible! Very flexible staff, we had our lunch at 2pm and then freshened up in the Spa before leaving at 15:30 pm.
